Why this magnetic RJ45 connector
For embedded Ethernet, designers need robust EMI performance, clean signal isolation, and easy assembly. The magnetic RJ45 connector DW-RJ45-DM01813-06TP-02 integrates the transformer inside a compact 1×1 tab-down DIP package for 10/100BASE-T links. The fully shielded housing reduces emissions, while on-board LEDs (left green, right yellow) provide clear link/activity feedback in the field.
Key features of the magnetic RJ45 connector
- Integrated magnetics for 10/100BASE-T Ethernet signal isolation and EMI suppression
- 1×1 tab-down through-hole (DIP) style for strong retention and wave-solder assembly
- Shielded metal housing with nickel plating for ruggedness and noise control
- Status LEDs: left green (LED1), right yellow (LED2) for fast diagnostics
- Durability: ≥750 cycles for long service life
- Operating temperature: −40 °C to +85 °C for industrial use

Recommended PCB layout notes
- Follow the recommended PCB layout in the drawing for drill sizes, keep-outs, and tab locations.
- Keep Ethernet differential pairs short and length-matched from magnetics to PHY for best return loss and EMI.
- Ensure chassis-ground strategy for the shield can to control ESD/EMI.
Applications
- Network interface cards (NICs) and embedded mainboards
- IP cameras, DVR/NVR and security panels
- Routers, gateways and industrial controllers
- IoT devices, smart meters and HMI terminals
- VoIP phones and office networking equipment
Performance & integration
This magnetic RJ45 connector is tuned for 10/100BASE-T PHYs that require integrated isolation for return-loss control and EMC. The nickel-plated shield provides a stable chassis reference, while tab-down pins give strong retention for wave solder. Differential pairs should be length-matched from PHY to jack and referenced to a quiet ground to minimize crosstalk. Select the 6 µin Au option for typical office and light-industrial use; move to 15–30 µin where humidity, vibration or frequent re-insertion are expected. LED1 green and LED2 yellow enable fast field diagnostics without firmware changes.
Compliance & quality
This magnetic RJ45 connector is RoHS compliant and manufactured under ISO9001 / ISO14001 / IATF16949 quality systems. Each lot maintains traceability for plating thickness, contact resistance, and mechanical dimensions.

FAQs
Q1. Is this magnetic RJ45 connector suitable for 10/100 or Gigabit?
This variant is specified for 10/100BASE-T. For Gigabit magnetics, ask us for our 1000BASE-T magnetic RJ45 connector series.
Q2. Can I change LED colors or plating thickness?
Yes. Choose 01/02/03 for LED options and 01/03/06/15/30 for gold plating thickness to match your cycle-life and corrosion requirements.
Q3. What orientation is “tab-down”?
“Tab-down” places the mounting tabs and pins downward into the PCB for strong mechanical retention during wave solder.
